Three years after we married, my husband and I moved to Glen Cove, Long Island. We settled into this North Shore community, raised three children and twenty years later we are still taking pleasure in all that this incredible city has to offer. Living in Glen Cove means relaxing summer months enjoying activities by the calm waters of Long Island Sound, participating in local festivals and holiday celebrations, shopping in a dynamic downtown and experiencing distinctive cuisine in local restaurants.
Many beautiful parks and beaches throughout the area provide numerous fun and sport events for children and adults including soccer, tennis, baseball, swimming, golf and sailboat racing. Beautiful family friendly Morgan Memorial Park is one of the best areas in Glen Cove. The harbor and Long Island Sound provide an amazing setting for the annual Music Festival presenting concerts throughout the summer.
Only an hour train ride away is New York City with theatres, museums, more shopping and restaurants. Glen Cove is a city that combines the best of both worlds. Is there a downside? It does get chilly in the winter.
