Whats amazing is Glen Burnie is well located to get to many important destinations via an impressive array of hwys. There is what I consider a better then avg hospital center located directly in Glen Burnie. Many local mom/pop businesses still thrive here as well. Unfortunately t ...Read More
here are only a few affordable neighborhoods in the greater Bmore metro that still have their old charm. Glen Burnie is quickly changing and many people have left because of whats come in... and what will continue to come in. Most of these modest homes were built in the 50's and since builders no longer make home this size they provide a unique value for first time home owners of people that can not afford more. There is no community here anymore and crime has become very serious.

I lived in Glen Burnie, Maryland, in Anne Arundel County and it can be a great place to live. The sprawling community is about 15 minutes outside Baltimore, and is close to the Chesapeake Bay, a 20 min drive will get you to a beach. Baltimore-Washington, Thurgood Marshall Interna ...Read More
tional airport is about a 10 minute drive with easy access to both arrivals and departures. It also sports a close proximity to Washington, D.C., you can be in our nation's capital in an hour or less.
Jobs are plentiful both in the county and out, so if you live in Glen Burnie you will have no problem being gainfully employed. Ft. Meade is about 10 minutes away as is the National Security Agency, N.S.A.. If you do not have a bachelors degree don't worry, you will be able to find work and it is usually well paying.
There is plenty of shopping with many plaza's and two shopping malls close by. The Arundel Mill's Mall is an outlet mall that recently added a casino bringing nightlife and gourmet restaurants. The Marley Station mall in Glen Burnie is more traditional shopping although there are restaurants and the local movie theater.
Glen Burnie has plenty of little parks in the smaller community's that comprise this 18 square mile stretch of land. These include:
• Southgate
• Glen Burnie Park
• Point Pleasant
• Marley
• Harundale
• Fox Chase
• Tanyard Springs
• Ferndale
• Garland Park
The area has all ranges of affluence, one suggestion is to look into the schools available to the area you may choose to live in. It is important to know what the elementary and middle schools feed into regarding high school as the county does a lot of redistricting, and no one wants to get blindsided.
