Meh. No point in moving here unless for family. User Rating 2 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 05, 2022) This is a scary place to live. Especially on the South and East sides, drugs are rampant. There's practically nothing to do, the schools are average at best, half of the city looks worse than the Columbus ghettos, and there aren't any grocery stores. If you were raised here, I ca ...Read More n understand why you would defend the town. However, to just about everyone else, it looks like another poverty-stricken drugtown. On the bright side, it's extremely cheap, and there are 4 different parks and the "Pickle Run" at Heise Park. There's a surprising variety of restaurants (Including a Tim Hortons Read Less
Not the best place, not the worst User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 18, 2020) After being a resident for 2 years, I can say this is a great place for people who wish to retire. Aside from that, Galion is average or a little below. To start, there are several awesome restaurants nearby (DK’s, M & S Pizzeria, etc), community is great, and parks are everywh ...Read More ere. Aside from that, the community is lacking opportunity for young adults. The schools, especially St. Joseph’s, are great, but the neighborhoods aren’t. Stay away from the South Side, I lived there for two years and it was very scary at night. Drug Dealer next door, abandoned house across from us.. We didn’t see any of this when we moved. Stay away from the Eastside too. North and West is pretty solid, for the most part. There is a huge lack of grocery stores. Aside from Dollar General, the only stores you’ll find there are rather obscure. You have to drive to Bucyrus to go to Kroger or any other normie store. Read Less
Galion, OH: Not My First Choice User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) During my search for a new town in Ohio to call home I spoke with a few friends who have been living in Galion for a few years. I wanted their input before I made the decision to move there. What I was told by 3 different people who don't even know one another yet live in the sam ...Read More e community is that Galion is rampant with crime, low employment and housing issues. They all agreed that the people who live there are friendly for the most part, but my thought is that if there's a problem with crime in the area, then those are the people who are involved in it. I did some research and the schools there are decent, but that's just not enough to win me over. I have lived in some of the best areas in Ohio and I'm not going to settle for anything less. I visited one of my friends and Galion for an extended stay to see for myself how it felt there, and she was absolutely right. I'll pass on the Galion, thanks.

If you do find yourself passing through the area there are a few sights to see and things to do for fun such as Seneca Caverns, the old Ohio State Reformatory, the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, Exit This escape games (my friend's favorite), and the Sk8te Place skating rink. Read Less
