A good place to visit does not mean a good place to live User Rating 1 rating By Anonymous ( Feb 28, 2021) This area is undeniably beautiful. It has great hotels and a lot of things to do while on vacation. Meanwhile residents have to work through the beautiful summer days as the streets flood with tourists, so they don't even get to enjoy the attractions themselves. Why do they have ...Read More to work so hard? Because in the off-season there is NO work. All the money residents earn in the summer has to be squirreled away to survive the winter.
I moved here about three years ago, and I'm desperately trying to escape. I'm trapped because this place has sucked my bank account dry. The only grocery store in town is unreasonably expensive. And any major retail stores are about an hour drive. There's only one internet/cable company, so there's no competitive pricing, and you're left paying $80/month just for basic internet access.
The locals are narrow-minded and very gossipy. Everyone knows everyone's business here, and that's personally not my cup of tea.
What I really miss most since I moved here is culture and intelligent conversation. Read Less
