Southside Fort Worth TX Neighborhood Review User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 10, 2014) Southside in Fort Worth, Texas has been my home for about five years. I moved here after I graduated college, and I haven't wanted to leave because of the historic environment. I live in the middle of the neighborhood in an apartment that runs about $900 a month. This is for a ni ...Read More cer apartment with three bedrooms and a pool on the site. There are other apartment complexes in the area that are less expensive, but there are older as well. Since I live in close proximity to the downtown area, I have found that it is easy to locate a job. I have seen several help wanted signs at businesses, so those who plan to move to the area shouldn't have a problem finding work.

Something that I don't like is that there is not a lot in the way of entertainment. There are hardly any nightclubs, and the festivals that I have seen are geared more toward the older generation than someone of my age. There are plenty of shopping centers and restaurants in the area. Many of the shopping centers are small as they are stores in the middle of town. This is the kind of shopping I like to do, so it doesn't bother me walking along the sidewalk in order to find the best deals on clothing, crafts and accessories. There is one library within a short distance of my home. To make transportation easy, there are buses that run through the town.

In order to have something fun to do, I have to travel to the city of Fort Worth. The Fort Worth Zoo is by far one of the best attractions I have been to in the city. It is ideal for families, especially those with young children. There are numerous animals to see including polar bears, tigers and lions. Some of my neighbors get together to go to the Bass Performance Hall to listen to concerts. Sundance Square is somewhere to go when it's warm because there are some craft vendors and musicians that set up in the evenings. This is probably the most exciting thing I have seen while living in the neighborhood. Read Less
