Like Sacramento, but prettier, safer, and better people! User Rating 5 rating By Kevin Mane ( Oct 24, 2014) I can't wait to move here once I can afford it. It's got everything! Great schools, very low crime, the lake, the American river, camping, walking/biking trails, tons of trees, old timey feel but kept up (even their McDonalds looks NICE!).
It's nice they have a lightrail that goe

The outlets are awesome.
The people, for the most part, are friendly.
The location is close to Placerville and all the cool foresty old-town cities you can enjoy in the El Dorado County.
It's the perfect mix of safe suburbia and city feel.
Folsom has it's own arenas for various events like the rodeo, renaissance faire, and concerts.
It also has its own quaint zoo.
Beautiful well-kept up parks.
It truly is one of the best places I've ever lived around. Right now, I'm about 10 miles away from all its greatness, but I hope to be moving there in a couple years when I can afford it. Read Less
Folsom, CA - Amazing Bike Trails User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 23, 2012) I relocated to Folsom five years ago from a much colder climate, so immediately upon arrival I fell in love with the warmer temperatures. I also soon realized that the guitarist for Papa Roach, a band I have always favored, was from Folsom, which I find interesting. Folsom featur ...Read More es over 30 miles of bike trails. I have never been one to take much interest in exercise and staying in shape, but since moving here I have taken an immense interest in biking. The trails are fun, exciting and very close to my home, so I make it a point to go riding at least three times a week. There are also several beautiful bridges in Folsom that add a unique aesthetic quality most towns do not possess.

Folsom is more of a tight knit city than what I am used to. I came from a larger, urban area, so it was pleasant to experience what a community consists of. My banker knows me by name and the check out clerk at the grocery store always gives my daughter a small piece of candy when we go shopping. You just cannot find that type of hospitality in larger, less personalized areas.

One thing I do miss is the shopping in my old town. While Folsom offers many smaller town commodities, many of my favorite retailers are not available here, so I occasionally make about a 45 minute drive to Sacramento to do my shopping.

Folsom, California has been a wonderful place to call home. While I do anticipate it's eventual growth and the possibility of seeing some of my favorite retailers establish themselves in the area, I am content here. Read Less
