Over the last ...Read More two decades the city of Florin has pretty much exploded in crime, as the crime wave that has swept over Sacramento continues to move south towards Elk Grove, California. There has been a very steady increase in crime in the area, although over the last ten years it is rapidly increasing in population.

The increase in population is due in large part to the weak economy and the diminishing costs to purchase houses in the area. The real estate market has truly crashed in Florin and the surrounding areas and homes can be bought for as low as fifty thousand dollars, which is remarkable when you consider the housing prices in surrounding areas.

There isn't much to say about the city when it comes to things to see, restaurants, night life or city centers because they pretty much don't exist. There isn't much going on in the area and most of the people typically head to South Sacramento for shopping and grocery needs and will head to downtown Sacramento for nightlife and restaurants. Perhaps the biggest problem facing the city of Florin is the fact that there is a very limited police force, contrary to the vast resources that are held in Sacramento. Due to the fact that there is an equal crime in Florin as compared to South Sacramento, it can be unnerving to live in the area, due to the fact that if you have a problem, it is probably going to be a long time before an officer shows up and most criminals in the area know this.
