Fairfield, Ohio - A Great Little City!!! User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 22, 2015) Fairfield, Ohio is a great little city that sits outside the beautiful riverside city of Cincinnati. Fairfield is considered part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. I moved here for a temporary nine months while I was on a consulting assignment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital ...Read More . This area was highly suggested by my old high school friend. The location for me was perfect. Close enough to work that commuting was easy, by both car and bicycle. Fairfield also sits outside the Dayton metro area. For me this took care of the nightlife and attractions.

I think one of the greatest assets of Fairfield, Ohio for me was its close proximity to the outdoor life. It was close enough that an active bike rider like me was close enough to the country, farms and the rolling foothills of the Appalachians and also the Ohio River that I never was bored.
Fairfield also sits outside of what is considered the crown jewel of Ohio's state park system, Hocking Hills.

Hocking Hills is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Ohio. Waterfalls, canyons, caves and many hued rocks make this a paradise for hikers and photographers. This is a definite must see destination if you are in the area.

Another great area attraction is Wright Patterson Air Force Base with its flight museum. You can spend a few days here exploring all the base and museum has to offer.
The Fairfield area is a relatively safe and quiet area. Churches and families abound. You will not find more quintessential America than here. It is definitely America's heartland. Just an overall great place to hang your hat. Read Less
