Not sure how the other reviewers formed their assessments but my family and I LOVE it here in Evans. Tons to do with the kids like concerts, events and parks. I'll say that the schools are a little crowded but over all my son's experience at the Middle school has been pleasant ...Read More
and he has awesome grades (A's and B's). His teachers are very good and seem to care a lot. They recognize good kids and point it out often. The town itself if awesome, traffic can be kinda a pain in the 430 to 6 time frame but over all it's not bad at all. Neighborhoods are nice, clean and safe. Maybe property taxes are a little higher compared to Richmond county but you get what you pay for. You get what you pay for and that dictates your town, things to do and people. I have found everyone in Evans (and the area for that matter) to be very nice and down to earth. So again, not sure if the negative comments are driven by people that are butt hurt for some reason or maybe they are the problem but I have not experienced any of that since I have been living in Evans. I would recommend Evans to any family wanting a nice town to live in.

Only if you have lots of money to buy an overpriced home should you think of living here. The people just look at you and act like they hate to answer a simple question. Not sure if it is because they dislike people or life itself. We are a young couple and selling our home, lowe ...Read More
r than we paid, as we want to live where there is some kind of activities to do and with friendlier people. All there is to do here is cook and watch television. Retirees should apply only!

As previous reviewer stated. They where spot on.IMOI will try to give a perspective 2 years later. Traffic, still horrible. Military base still active and appears to be growing.Schools over crowded and bullying rampant.( personal note) I have never been in a district that had to ...Read More
shut down the school because of bomb threats before since here, we've been through 5) Previous reviewer posted " People there never cease to be rude, bigotry is extremely high at every corner, if you put your kids in school here they will face many levels of mistreatment, and trying to drive down Washington Road will eat more gas than traveling on I-20 because you will stop every few feet from the traffic. Sure, it looks like a nice town in …"I will have to personally have to agree with this assessment. We have been here for 8 years now ( still currently reside here) We have the local "patriots" who like to stand at lowes fully load with guns and scream at all the minorities and Columbia county police does nothing about them"far as churches, if you are a religious person we have tons to pick from. least one every block or more.Far as kid based facilities, we had 2 and they just lost one. putt putt is all that remains.( perhaps if you relocate here you can create some moreTONS of construction, alot of fast food chains, and chain stores. So, if that appeals to you, you will be fine. There is some decent small local own businesses popping up, we try to encourage and support them as much as we can.Age ranges who mostly live here, 65 and up, identify conservative, republican, religious, government contractors, retirees and many are racist.thankful the diversity here has grown and perhaps the mean hateful old blued hairs, will go their ways soon so the city can change.

cause you will stop every few feet from the traffic. Sure, it looks like a nice town in passing but as soon as you move in you and your kids will likely want to leave really soon. I knew too many people who were military, stationed at Ft. Gordon, who were glad to leave this place with the same thing to say. "Augusta area is where all dreams die." Evans is where my dreams died until I got the hell out.
