I have been a career-oriented, constant mover. From apartments in mega-cities to cabins in the woods, "been there, done that". Living in East Providence was a very pleasant experience. Rhode Island is the smallest State, it can be crossed from north to south in less than one hour ...Read More
on Route 95. It has Narragansett Bay, perhaps on of the most scenic bodies of water in America as a centerpiece. East Providence is on the bay, and has urban and rural lifestyles available. There is a large ethnic Portuguese population along with Rhody's lively Italian culture. You will meet people from many cultures, and all seem to get along well.
Shopping and nightlife are close at hand with big box stores available as well as genuine ethnic eating establishments. Family-owned restaurants are plentiful and nearby tons such as Bristol and Warren have world famous seafood eateries.
East Providence is a walker's city, many small stores and businesses are conveniently located within reasonable distances on fairly safe, well lit streets. Most living spaces are very convenient to Route 195, which connects to Interstate 95 and a series of well kept secondary routes. You can work in Massachusetts and still enjoy Rhode Island's low cost of living and bayside lifestyle. Communications are provided by several local Tv and radio stations as well as small local weekly newspapers. There is a well-managed public library and the schools are rated high. East Providence is a good place for families and singles alike.
East Providence offers a less congested lifestyle than Providence and an access to the Bay and shore that are hard to come by affordably. Rents are lower and you can't beat the convenience of ease of travel. It's very liveable and one of the best small cities in America's smallest State.
