A City Like Home User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2015) Dunwoody, GA is a quiet place to live as I have been there for about seven years. It is on the outskirts of the inner city, making it an area where you can travel to the attractions of Atlanta and other major cities while still keeping the calm atmosphere of sitting on the front ...Read More porch. One of the things that I like to do is take my bike to some of the trails in the parks and ride, looking at the beautiful trees and plants while on my bike.

This is a city located to the north of Atlanta. I can go catch a Braves game or go see a concert at any time since it's so close to home. Many of the restaurants have an elegant feel to them, but I have found some that serve the southern food that is like the comforts of home, such as BBQ and meatloaf. Originally from NC, this is the kind of food that I enjoy. There are numerous festivals held in the downtown area through the year. My favorite is at the beginning of spring when many vendors bring out their handmade crafts and delicious foods.

There is an amazing Fourth of July celebration with plenty of music and food before the event. I have noticed that there are more hotels in the city. There are also quite a few small shopping centers. There aren't as many large malls, but shopping at the smaller stores on the streets makes up for the large businesses. This is a town that has a little bit of everything when it comes to family activities and celebrations as well as places to eat and shopping. It's a well balanced area to live in the state. Read Less
