Every year my husband and I stop in Dothan, Alabama on our way to Florida. The Southern Charm of this city is what makes it a priority stop on our trip every August. This city is the dubbed the Peanut Capitol and if you like the famous nuts, the varieties available are heavenly. When in Dothan be sure to go see the famous flood walls. They are breathtaking to view these gigantic sized works of art that really make the past come to life.

If you are not a small town person this city might not be happening enough for you. It has a rustic old world feel and the people are not going anywhere fast. Perhaps the laid back atmosphere is what draws us back time and time again.

While there are several hotels to choose from, time and time again we end up staying in the Courtyard by Marriot. We usually stay there because of the Star Bucks Coffee that is inside this hotel and the beautiful décor along with spotless rooms. If your ever in the Northern Alabama area, and are looking for some old southern hospitality and of course some peanuts you should check this city out.
