Leaving at Last User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 28, 2020) I am a current resident of Cherry Creek (3 years) and longtime Denver resident. Currently, I think of Cherry Creek as a banking/convention center with still some good restaurants and a little shopping. Absolutely no nightlife, such as a jazz club. The last remnant of the " quaint ...Read More " Cherry Creek of the past is on 3rd Avenue between Fillmore Street and Clayton. Time will tell how long that will last. My time of feeling safe in Cherry Creek ended last night around 8pm as I was walking my dog. I called 911 to report a women in a black vehicle screaming as she being assaulted by a man in the vehicle right across the street from my condo building (on Fillmore between 3rd & 4th.) As I mentally recorded the license plate, the vehicle took off with the women screaming for help. I pray that she is OK and that the police found the man responsible. Maybe my feeling of security in this area has always been an illusion. I won't list other crimes that I have only heard about. I am moving spring 2020. I know nowhere is totally safe, but I will be very happy to leave Cherry Creek and Denver! I can say that the Cherry Creek Neighborhood Association does an excellent job with various groups one can join, so that almost everyone can find something interesting to do with like-minded neighbors!
