I have attended Denham Springs High School since my Freshman year. through that time I have been involved in in many school organizations as well as AP programs and I have had an experience which can be described as, simply, good. the schools sports and student life are heavily promoted and numerous with many areas of recreational clubs and varying degrees of sports to choose from, however in many areas the academics are atrophied. the AP program, though it is growing, is rather limited and many at level classes do not meet the level of academic challenge that most at level students should be working at on the high school level. the onus for this can fall mostly on a select group of teachers who, frankly, do not put in a concerted effort to make the classroom an enjoyable AS WELL as challenging environment. however overall the faculty is a generally dedicated group, especially those that are involved in the AP programs. the facilities are not the best, but this is an issue more to do with the local school board than the administration of the school. the school does its best to provide clean facilities, even though some are a bit dated. the administration on the whole is very well put together, especially in the area of discipline. discipline is no nonsense but also fair and balanced. as a whole the student body is united and friendly, cases of major bullying are rarely heard of and fights are a rare occurrence. I would recommend this school to anyone in the area.
