Deltona, FL: Lots of Lakes and Delicious Pizza User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 04, 2010) On a recent trip to Florida, my husband and I visited the city of Deltona. It's halfway between Orlando and Daytona Beach and we really enjoyed it! There wasn't a lot to do, but it was a fun afternoon during our Florida trip.

We ate at Monster Pizza, because we had heard good th ...Read More ings, and we were not disappointed. The pizzas were delicious and everyone was extremely friendly. After lunch we strolled down Deltona Boulevard and saw some cute shops, then visited the Deltona Arts Center, where there was some great local art exhibited.

Like all of Florida, Deltona seemed to be surrounded by water. After walking around the city, we made our way to Lake Gleason Park, but were a little disappointed when we couldn't find a good walking trail. It was very pretty, though.

Eventually we went to Gemini Springs Park on Lake Monroe, which is a little bit outside of Deltona. We were able to rent a canoe and found some great walking trails.

When driving from Daytona Beach to Orlando, there is no better place to stop then Deltona. It's right off the highway and has some good food and beautiful lakes. Read Less
