Visit but not live there User Rating 2 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 07, 2018) I lived there four years. It’s a small town and you’ll be an outsider and never accepted. There are some racial issues present and some people can get pretty nasty. Petty stuff like some people in small towns do, talking about people to other people. I’ve heard prominent pe ...Read More ople say not to move to Defuniak. Live somewhere else. Life is short and nobody deserves that drama. There is no place to work. They don’t want business there and that leaves a lot of people to live in poverty, live on charity. They address that. They do have resources to help people in need. The good part is the lake yard. They do a wonderful Christmas display. The prisoners do it. There are sales around the lake, 4th of July at the lake, Marci gras, Chautauqua days in January, marvel of flight, Veterans Day, the wine festival and hometown Christmas, all kinds of events. The lake is one of only two perfectly round lakes in the world. There are some very nice shops there. Bogies has good food and a nice atmosphere. Then there’s a variety of fast food places. I will never go back to live, but the events are a lot of fun. Read Less
