Darien, CT: A Nice Place If You Can Afford It User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) I lived in Darien, CT during my first marriage, and I have to say that it is a lovely place to live, for those who are wealthy enough to afford living there. Darien is definitely an affluent area. When we moved there it was a nice, upscale place, but now the majority of homes are ...Read More in the $1 million-plus range, located in the best areas of Darien. It does have a lot to offer, with an educational system that produces impressive graduation results, a very low crime rate, and for those with the education and training, a fantastic job market where one can build a career in most any field.

The town itself offers upscale shops, fitness centers, restaurants, and parks. There's also the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in nearby Norwalk, with lots of interactive exhibits that are fun and educational for kids of all ages. Norwalk is also home to the Al Madany Islamic Centre, a beautiful mosque where the Imam and the entire congregation are warm and welcoming to everyone. Living in Darien is perfect for those with more refined tastes. Read Less
