I lived in Danville California for the better part of my childhood, and I still travel there to visit my parents and grandparents during holidays. The city is a very calm place, and in my opinion a great place to raise kids. The crime is low, the people are riendly, and there are ...Read More
tons of outdoor activities to enjoy. When I was younger I spent my summer vacations hiking the Iron Horse Regional Trail. If I was lucky my friends and I would rent horses and go deeper into the forests. Sometimes we would go hunting. As much fun as we had I can imagine big-city folks hating it here. Danville is nothing like Los Angeles or New York. There aren't many restaurants here, but the few that can be found offer some of the best food I have ever had. Most of them are family owned and are always polite and hardworking. Danville believes in food that can stick to your ribs and lots of it. you will never leave hungry, that is for sure.
Danville is a city that has remained touched by many of the big consumer stores and it really makes the town feel more connected. You know all the people running everything. There are small attractions bowling alleys, forest trails, a few bars, and some small shops, but there aren't that many chains here. There is a little bit of travel involved if you want to go to an actual mall or night club. There is the Village Theatre and Art Gallery which has numerous event year round and some quality performances from people of all age groups. I know that I am always excited to see what new productions they have whenever I am in Danville visiting.
