A Hiker's dream User Rating 4.5 rating By HikeditLikedit ( May 17, 2016) I drove nearly 3 hours just to spend the afternoon in Damascus. The town is famous for its love of the hiker community. There are several hiking trails and biking trails that converge in the town the most famous of these bringthree Appalachian Trail. Everyone in town waves when ...Read More they drive by. The town has an annual celebration called Trail Days where local artisans, equipment representatives, music groups, churches, shops, massage therapists, etc. welcome hikers, tourists, AT alum and the local community to join the festivities. I want there for trail days, but I enjoyed every minute of my visit. It's a beautiful town. Read Less
