Damascus, MD is also known for being unique in that even though it is a small town it has several unique and ethnic restaurants. Smokehouse BBQ is one of those restaurants with BBQ cooked slow and over low temperatures giving it a great smokey flavor. Peruvian Chicken and Grill is another having that sweet and spicy combination characteristic of the style.
Winters in Damascus can be harsh. It is located just far enough north of WAshington, DC and west of Baltimore it sees frequent snows. These storms can be over a foot.
