After I got out of the service I moved with my wife and kiddos to Cypress, California. It wasn't my first choice but I had a good job offer there and wanted to move closer to my in-laws who lived in Fullerton. It is only a short drive and we try to see them on weekends.

love the fact that we go to Disneyland as often as we want. Well, that is as long as we can afford to go. Knott's Berry farm is also close enough to enjoy and we love the fact that often we can get great discounts because we live in the area. There are several other major attractions that we can also choose from, so the kids think we live in the best part of the state possible.
In the summer we spend a lot of time at the ocean. I always dreamed of living close to the Pacific ocean because I wanted to learn to surf. It is something that I might have to put off for a while though because my job requires so much of me right now.
The weekends are always busy because my wife loves to shop and there are plenty of place to find almost anything we want. Sometimes we drive into LA and see a show or we drive around the Hollywood area thinking about all the great stars who must live somewhere up in those hills.
Some days we do have a little smog and I wish for some wide open spaces, but overall it is a really good place to raise a family.
My kids go to private schools, but that is due to our religious convictions. I have heard some of the best grade schools in the area are located right in Cypress. Hopefully the kids can go to a good community college in the area when they are out of high school.
Anyone who is thinking about relocated should consider this diverse area. I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to stay busy and enjoy the great state of California.
