Central City, Corpus Christi, TX - Hospitality & History User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 19, 2012) I have lived in Central City Corpus Christi for about two years. I love living in the area because the houses are older and are not right on top of each other like some of the newer developments. Most of the homes are one-story houses. I live in a two-bedroom home that has a smal ...Read More l carport attached to it. Pets are not a big issue because most of my neighbors have at least one. Most of us speak to each other when we are outside. It is one of the best areas that I have lived in.

One of the things that I like about this area is that I can live in a quiet neighborhood and still be close enough to the middle of town so that I don't have to drive a long distance. There are restaurants and places to shop for clothes and other items, but most of the town is office buildings. If you like to read, you will enjoy the large library in the city. It opens early in the morning and usually stays open until nine or 10 in the evening. I like being able to volunteer at the library when I am not working.

Something that the area I live in does not have much of is a night life. There are not many clubs or places to go if you want to stay out past 10. However, there are plenty of things to do during the day. Several golf courses are in the area. There are also a few history museums to explore. The exhibits change every few months. My favorite place to visit is the Heritage Park and cultural Center. It is a large house with a beautiful garden in the back yard. The Christmas holiday is the best time to visit. The house is decorated with colorful lights and bows. There are also numerous smells such as cinnamon and peppermint. Tours are offered during the day. The marina is another popular place to spend a day at. It is best if you know someone who has a boat, but there are small boats that you can rent. Read Less
