My College Years In Commerce City, CO 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 12, 2015) I have lived in Commerce City, Colorado for several years while I was attending college and it is generally a pretty nice place to live. Commerce City is located just north of Denver and can generally be considered the suburbs of Denver. There is a lower crime rate than in the mi ...Read More ddle of the city and there is a much greater suburban feel, which has provided a means for closer nit communities and better neighborhoods.

One of the best things about this area is the huge number of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed all throughout the year. Commerce City is situated near hundreds of smaller ponds and several rivers that run through the area, leading to great fishing, as well as ice skating in the winter. There is perhaps the best skiing and snowboarding within an hour's drive of Commerce City and due to the fact that Commerce City lies North of Denver, there is a pretty equal drive in all directions to reach the various resorts. There is also great hunting in the area around Commerce City, yet in about forty five minutes, you can drive out to the thick forest and go hunting as well.

The area is safe for the most part, although drug convictions and property crimes have been on the rise in recent years. There is a great deal of restaurants and shopping centers, but generally people drive into Denver to do the bulk of their shopping, seeing as you can get to the heart of the city in less than ten minutes from Commerce City. As for the nightlife, if you want to go out to a nightclub or a bar for the evening, you are far better suited to driving into Denver, or simply taking a taxi out there, due to the fact that it is so close.
