Citrus Heights, CA - The Place to be! User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 22, 2010) My wife and I used to live in Citrus Heights for nearly five years and we loved it! The warm summers and mild winter were perfect. I've always been a fan of the Kings and watching their basketball games in Sacramento was great. In the winter my wife and I would drive up to Tahoe on the weekend to ski, amazing snow, and the drive was only about 2.5 hours so the trip was quick and easy.

I suppose some of the bad things about living in Citrus Heights was, for one, the heat. A few summers were real scorchers, in the 100's for days at a time. It's very dry in Citrus Heights, so the landscape looks like a desert most of the time, not the best view I suppose. My wife loved the fresh produce markets everywhere, and just a few miles outside the city there are several farms that grow pistachio nuts. You can 'pick your own' fruit on several of the farms, its geared more for tourists but still fun once in a while. Overall we loved living in Citrus Heights; it was a great place to live. Read Less
