Recently I visited the city of Cicero, Illinois with my family when we were vacationing in the Chicago, Illinois area. We stayed at a really nice, clean hotel in Cicero called the Cindy Lyn Motel. We were very pleased with the hospitality of the staff there and the people in the area in general. Another great aspect of Cicero is that it is only about a 15 minute drive from Chicago.

During our stay in Cicero we did visit the Hawthorne Race Course, where they race thoroughbreds. That was a fun experience for the family. There are a lot of really great restaurants in the area as well. We did not have one meal there that everyone didn't enjoy and the variety was wonderful. You can get anything from Mexican, Chinese or a even a great pizza.

Another thing we really enjoyed about Cicero was the great shopping in the city. There was enough types of stores to keep everyone in the family happy. There is a beautiful old church you definitely should check out while you are there, the St. Mary of Czestochowa. The architecture is simply stunning.
