Centereach: A Pricey Long Island Hotspot 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in Centereach can be pretty expensive. The cost of living and average real estate prices are high, even by New York standards. Since it's on Long Island, it feels a little more oriented towards vacationers and people from the city with second homes there.

In the summer, i ...Read More t's a busy place and there's no shortage of outdoor activities you can partake in. The beaches are close on either side, and they're always busy when the weather is nice. If you're looking for a job, you'll probably have better luck finding a summer or part-time job rather than something long term.

While the best area in Centereach is probably the beach, there are also a lot of parks around that you can check out for a picnic or a morning jog before it gets too hot. It's the kind of place that is much more fun in the summer unless you don't mind a relatively quiet winter. Read Less
