I Miss Centennial! 3 rating By Anonymous ( Feb 17, 2015) I have lived in nearly a dozen cities around the US and Centennial, CO is one of those cities that I miss. Most of the cities that I have spent my time in were amazing but, this city stands out among them pulling at my heartstrings all the time.

Centennial CO is majestic with i ...Read More ts clean streets and buildings. I love to walk down the downtown that are adorned with uniform trees, enticing cafes, stores and cuisines. I am quite attracted to the cool attitude of people living here. Some of the residential communities are great and affordable. One of the first things I do every weekend is head straight to shopping malls that hold farmers market.

Besides the opportunity to participate in various recreational sports, this city is home to some incredible and mouth-watering foods. The Asian cuisines are top notch and great to sit in a cool ambience. Jabb's BBQ has some delicious meat and the visit would not be complete without Abbo's pizza. You are seated in a comfortable setting in this medium sized cuisine. The menu along with water and condiments are served with a smile. It has the diversity that you are longing for in a pizza place. Many dishes in this place fuse American and European influences as well.

This city during the three years I have been has always made me feel so welcome. I have met some of the nicest people and have truly made great friends here. To get to know centennial CO you have to actual travel to this city. It has the charm that will offer a unique experience. If you don't have the time to explore other places in CO, do not worry, because you are in touch with the best part of your trip. Read Less

Centennial, Colorado, is one of the fastest growing areas in the Rocky Mountain West, and it was the largest city to be incorporated ever when it made the decision to do so in the early 2000s. Located less than 30 miles to the south of Denver, Centennial is a smart option for those who are looking to avoid the downtown area while enjoying a high quality of life. Centennial provides easy access to all of the ski resorts along I-70 since it is a short two hour drive to the first powder.

Centennial is home to over 100,000 people who enjoy a high quality of life that is based around family, friends, and fitness. The area is also one that promotes outdoor living due to the natural beauty and trail system that the city has constructed. Technology plays a very important role in the area's economic development. Sierra Nevada Corporation, United Launch Alliance, and Arrow Electronics are just a few of the employers in this sector that provide jobs to a large percentage of the city's residents. Comcast and United Health Group round out the top five for large employers in Centennial.

Colorado is known for their 14,000 foot peaks, and while there are not any located in Centennial, you have beautiful views of the mountain ranges that flank the eastern half of the city. Cherry Creek State Park is a beautiful place to go for a run or a bike ride on a crystal clear summer day. Feeding the ducks is a favorite past-time for many of the children who call the area home. Chatfield State Park is another area with a lake that can be fun for a quick dip when the summer heat starts to be unbearable. The reservoir is also popular with boaters who like to take advantage of the calm waters.

Willow Creek, Cherry Knolls, Algonquin Acres, and Parkborough are some of the most sought after neighborhoods in the area. While home prices are not cheap in Centennial, the quality of construction in the area is second-to-none since many of the homes have been built within the last 20 years. Lois Lenski Elementary School, Arapahoe High School, and Heritage Elementary School are all very highly rated public schools.

The city has a light rail system with transportation into Denver. There are also a number of busses that transport riders around Centennial. Getting into Denver or heading south to Colorado Springs is convenient as it is a quick ride up or down Interstate 25. Even in the winter months when the area can get a lot of snow in a short period of time, crews do a good job keeping the roads relatively clean for travel.
