The Capitan website suggests this is a great retirement community....NOT! The local government is controlled by a police chief who would rather have no events in the community because they are too much work and advises his "officers" to not enforce any ordinances, a city admini ...Read More
strator who thinks she is an attorney, and a planning commission who doesn't bother to check out property permits. Cronyism at its best within the elected and employed. Local realty company promotes property sales with the idea that in Capitan NO ordinances are followed thus if you want to locate here it is ideal because you can have your junk cars, your pigs and horses, and any other deplorable nuisance on your property AND NOBODY can or will do anything about it....so be warned when you buy property DO EXPECT a garbage pit to locate next to you. DON'T waste your dollars relocating to Capitan unless you want to leave in filth, have representation based on "old name", and a do nothing police chief.
