Buffalo Grove, IL City Review User Rating 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 18, 2015) I lived in Buffalo Grove, Illinois for about 8 years in my mid-twenties. I lived on the north side which is more commercial than the southern side which is more residential and family friendly. There were consumer malls and lots of businesses where I lived while the southern part ...Read More is definitely much more suburban and has more of the "fun" things to do such as restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Although that part has more fun things to do, Buffalo Grove does not have much of a nightlife, especially for young people. The city is definitely more of a suburban family town. The only places for young people to go out would be the Performer's Karaoke & DJ services and Fox & Hound Smoke House & Tavern, even though most of the time these are filled with employees trying to relax for the weekend after their 40 hour work week.

As far as attractions go, most people come for Wyndham Garden Buffalo Grove which is literally just a nice hotel. There are lots of restaurants but most have a strong American flair which some people may or may not like. The restaurant Wildfire, however, offers upscale sushi and is perfect for a special night out and not a regular family get-together.
Overall, the town is a very family-friendly town. It is focused on the family-life as can be seen from its food, attraction, and overall vibe. The people are incredibly nice and there are lots of places to shop. However, if you are looking for a fun night on the town, you might have to be a little more open-minded. There are things to do but you will have to look closer and make the most of what is there. Read Less
