Blaine is incredibly hostile for pets User Rating 0.5 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 07, 2021) The city of Blaine has a very strict and draconian interpretation of laws regarding pets. You walk over to the neighbors to check on them and their dog attacks yours? Your fault, and then the city will proceed to extract a frankly unjust amount of money from you, even if your dog ...Read More s weren't the aggressor (and your neighbor agrees with you about it!). They then require a rare, hard to find form of insurance that costs an insane amount (it's cheaper to kill someone in a car accident), and if you can't afford to pay (like me), then they'll send four officers to remove your pets.

Blaine is a terrible place to live, the city council is completely useless (been contacting them regularly, and they have yet to even acknowledge me). Their hearing system is a joke; the lawyer they hire sides with the city 95% of the time, so good luck trying to get any meaningful justice here. Their police either cannot take an accurate police report, or simply decide to ignore facts that both involved parties agreed on at the time of the report (honestly not sure which is worse).

I absolutely regret buying my first house here, one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Read Less
Blaine, MN City Review User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Mar 10, 2015) Blaine encompasses 34 square miles of land and home to many attractions and entertainment venues. I have been living here since 2009 and find it interesting every day of my life. The weather is not that bad and when it gets cold it really gets cold. There are new homes every wher ...Read More e near the highway, close to main street and you can find one for a reasonable price as well. Other homes have been here for more than 50 years and still standing strong in the harsh weather.

Your stay at the city will be safe as long as you are living in a neighborhood that is built near city center. The crime rate overall seems to be high in some parts of the city but that is normal in any city you visit. As for the population, this city is not as crowded as you think, family oriented and a great place for retirees. When it comes to schools, your kids are likely to end up in one of the following: Spring Lake Park, Anoka Hennipen, Baline and Centennial public school, and there are couple of private schools as well. Apartments are expensive and overall cost of living is high compared to most other Minnesota small towns.

Food is fantastic in Blaine and there is something for everyone here. Start with Sushi which is an all you can eat place with lots of options on the menu. You will love the ambience and customer service in this little cuisine. However, price can be costly for most items on the menu which is worth it given the quality of seafood and meat. You will be greeted by friendly staffs there and they will treat you like you are the only customer.
