An Affluent Option to Detroit User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Birmingham, Michigan is a well-developed suburb to the northwest of Detroit. The city is commerce-driven with a booming downtown/shopping district. The city is kept safe by a fair and competent police force, and is seemingly always building something new. Birmingham is geared tow ...Read More ards the upper middle-class lifestyle which is prevalent in the city's many neighborhoods. The housing market is great, with home prices staying low and property taxes remaining reasonable. The city is currently seeing a boom in property sales.

Shopping, dining and nightlife in Birmingham is spectacular. There are many options for shopping at small or big stores and there are numerous ethnic and fusion restaurants that are becoming more popular in the region. Nightlife is excellent as well, with the city featuring many venues for a fun night on the town.

Overall, Birmingham is a great choice for those looking to raise a family, or those just looking to settle in an economically stable and charming city, without the hassle and crime of Detroit. Read Less
