Area Vibes Spot On... User Rating 1 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 11, 2019) Bigfork is not a place of community, family, nor hospitality and I've lived here for 3 years so I'm not sure how 'nice' it once was, but it's not nice now. Unless you are into the outdoor life, which I am, there is very little to do here, and very little in the surrounding towns and areas. Things aren't well advertised, so if there is an event you'd like to go to, it's imperative to be proactive in continuously searching out activities. While the landscape is incredibly beautiful, the depressing lack of community, the high cost of living and housing, etc. are all reasons I'm moving on to where there is better community, friendlier faces, and warm hospitality...all lacking in Bigfork. Not as nice as it once was User Rating 2 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 04, 2018) Peaceful little Bigfork on the shore of Flathead Lake and the Swan River used to be a nice place to live and work. I did for a number of years, until Plum Creek got bought out and the jobs plummeted. It was a quirky town with rich and poor living side-by-side. Not anymore. Cr ...Read More ime has found a new home there. Weather sucks too....first snow in October is still on the ground the following May. Road department hardly ever plows or sands unless it's a major storm. Bring your crampons if you plan to take garbage to one of the county sites, as it is slick with ice. And, don't forget to put the studded tires on in October. Virtually no one shops in town except tourists, they all need to go to Kalispell for just about everything. Read Less
