That's why when I visit my friends living in the City of Bear, DE, I enjoy myself so much. You can truly find your niche here. Whether you like exploring the great outdoors, or shopping in a quaint little th ...Read More rift Shoppe, there's something for everyone. If I ever decide to move this is the spot to be.

Some of the best areas around or in the city of Bear, DE are traveling along the Chesapeak Canal in a canoe, or going on a fishing trip at Lums Pond State Park. We had a lovely family reunion there a few years ago. It's a clean, safe, and family-oriented park. We also went hiking on one their many trails.

Bear, DE has such a family-friendly atmosphere, there's so much to do with the kids. We have the Christiana Mall for our teens, the Hullabaloo Amusement Park for the younger ones, and the Delaware Rock Gym for the more adventurous. My favorite place to shop is the New Castle Farmer's Market. The Amish sell so many delicious, cakes, pies, fresh meats and cheeses. It's hard to make my mind up and sometimes I treat myself to a bit of everything.

Whenever we run out of ideas on things to do, we head over to the Delaware Welcome Center Travel Plaza on 530 JFK Memorial Hwy, just minutes from Bear, DE in Newark. This is where we pick our Attraction Information guides for the Summer and Fall events. Read Less
