Auburn Hills has many parks, open year round. They have summer activities, and in the winter permit cross-country skiing, ice fishing, ice skating and more. There is a free skate park, and a public park that has an amazing fireman themed tot-lot for small children. Oakland University is not the only higher education institution. Oakland Community College, Baker College, and Western Michigan University's Thomas M Cooley Law School are housed in the city. With so many people in their 20s and 30s attending school in Auburn Hills, there is great shopping, eating, and activities.

The City of Auburn Hills hosts many community events including Summerfest, a Friday Night Concert Series, Paddlepalooza and more. The city is currently raising money for an outdoor amphitheater, plaza space, and splash pad at a community park - further increasing the many fun outdoor activities in the city. Located close to Detroit and Flint, and located off highway 75, it is easy to get to Auburn Hills from local airports and other Michigan cities.

If, like me, you like to eat, you won't go hungry in Auburn Hills and the neighboring cities. Rochester Hills is minutes away (just on the other side of Oakland University) and downtown will meet any fine dining needs (Kruse and Muer is a must!). In town, you have your choice of pizza delivery places, fast food, and Michigan's famous Coney Island dogs. If you are in the Detroit or Flint areas, a visit to Auburn Hills is a must. Read Less
