I adore living in Atascadero; it's got a small-town feel that I've never experienced in any other California town. People wave to you as you drive by here. They chat with you in grocery store aisles. They look out for you if your car is broken down on the side of the road.

best places in Atascadero tend to be along our main streets, El Camino Real and Morro Road where most grocery stores, shops, restaurants and medical offices are located. We have a terrific small zoo in Atascadero, as well as an activity-filled lake park, a festive town square, a busy community and teen center and a historic City Hall. We even have a few breweries and pubs for a little local nightlife. I enjoy the abundance of education options that go with living in Atascadero too. Cal Poly and Cuesta College are just 20 minutes away, and local kids have access to a public fine arts middle school in town.
