Capital City Get Away User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2015) I have lived near Antelope, California for quite some time and have to say that this is a city that is truly on the edge of going from a very nice community to a gang ridden community. In the past, Antelope has been quite a safe area, which has been rapidly expanding with brand n ...Read More ew homes. Antelope sits just north of Sacramento, which is the capital of California, although the bulk of houses in Sacramento were built during the midcentury.

The houses in Antelope are more guided to those with money, but gang violence from North Sacramento and North Highlands has been pushing further and further into the community. Although the statistics don't quite show the expanding violence, there are ever increasing News stories of home invasions and robberies in this area. This is not to say that Antelope is a terrible place to live. The reality is that the gang violence in the Sacramento Metropolitan area is ever expanding and is simply pushing into other areas. The same thing happened with South Sacramento and it appears that Antelope could be the next area to decline.

The majority of people that live in Antelope have a decent amount of money and it is a very attractive place for a number of reasons. You can purchase a very large two story house that was built in the last ten years, with well over two thousand square feet for as little as a quarter million dollars. When you compare this to various other parts of California, this is an incredible steal and that is one of the biggest attractions of this area. You can simply get a lot more for your money and if the gang violence stays out of Antelope, it is a wonderful place to reside. Read Less
