The housing market in Anoka is good, with property prices remaining average and property taxes being reasonable.

Shopping, dining and nightlife are good in Anoka as well. Though most dining and nightlife options in Anoka are franchises, more diverse options are available with a quick drive to Minneapolis. The city is also home to Anoka Technical College where students specialize in engineering or vocational trades that contribute directly to the city's economy in a very positive manner.
