Small Town Charm, Big City Culture 5 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Situated in the heart of the Five College area, Amherst Center is the perfect blend of small town ambiance and big city culture. My children and I enjoyed living in Amherst Center among so much culture and history, in a town small enough that my local coffee shop learned my order ...Read More and had it ready for me!

During the school year, the area can be busy and crowded. Local bars cater to the college crowds and traffic can get a bit hairy downtown. Fortunately, most everything is within comfortable walking distance so you can walk to wherever you might want to go. Because there is something for everything here, from art to local foods, the best areas in Amherst Center really depend on what you want to do or see.

During the summertime Amherst Center offers a ton of things for residents to do. I particularly enjoy going to the annual “Taste of Amherst,” which is hosted on the common, and going to the weekly Farmers Market. Read Less
