Visalia Charter Independent study or VCIS is a charter school that is located in Visalia. This is a school that helps students flourish if they can handle responsibility and the ability to work independently. Classes are taught with care by all the teachers and unlike other schools offer the students one on one help. I personally have benefitted from this, I transferred my 2nd year to VCIS and my old public school had so many students the teachers never paid attention to what grades you got in their class, but in VCIS the teachers are committed to seeing you succeed. They also allow students to get ahead in packet work if their grades on the test for that subject are high enough, because of this many students have been able to graduate early. My public school never allowed me to turn in work early limiting me to the pace as everyone else. VCIS lets students go at their own pace while maintaining graduation requirements. They are a school that focuses on academics more than sports. This is the school I have come to know and appreciate.
