I have lived here for as long as I can remember. I love the fact that you know everyone and the social area is a nice perk! There is a movie theatre, park(s), and stores but, if you want more it's a 5min drive to Ann Arbor which is a whole new story. Parks and outdoor things is a ...Read More
huge park of saline and if you love all the things about the outdoors here is perfect. It's probably the most family-friendly town in Michigan once again most of the parks are kid-ready and the schools are the best (Public Schools) you can find in the area. And the crime rate is amazingly low compared to a nearby town and has 0 murders in all of its history. With all mostly white areas, there are racism and homophobia but, mostly it very welcoming.

I go to U of M but I lived in Saline my whole life before this year and everyone is super friendly and it has a really small population so everyone knows each other. They also have a cinema and is close to Ann Arbor so you can go to Briarwood. Ann Arbor is also only 4 minutes awa ...Read More
y so fun stuff isn't far. There's a really low crime rate in Saline (there's never been a murder) and it's super safe. There are several playgrounds that you can go to and they're really good for little kids. There are 7 public schools in Saline and your kids will make a lot of friends. There's also Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's so if anyone loves junk food, like me, Saline will make a good city for you. There's a really good library which I go to every week and they're very laid back about masks if you are vaccinated.

Saline is far enough from Ann Arbor that it is OK to have traditional family values, but close enough to have the nicer entertainment, hospitals, diverse shopping, and dining options to keep life interesting. We can be house proud where even modest homes are well maintained with ...Read More
nice yards. We have some older neighborhoods, but none are run down. Schools are fine if you are mainstream and sharp, but they do leave others behind. People tend to keep to themselves. If moving here, feel out the neighbors. Some can be rather blunt and dense. Easily, most are fine.

Small town. Longtime locals plus many commuters. Small homes, McMansions, big box stores on the outskirts. More high school kids drive to school than any other district in the region. Drugs are a problem, despite or because of relative affluent population, I hear, among a small ...Read More
number of teens. Like most towns this size, not much to do, but close to Ann Arbor. Newer Walmart.

o say I love the Elementary Schools but once they hit the High School beware. If your child has any type of disability or chronic disease the school doesn't care about them they do everything in there power to throw them out. I have personally struggled with this at the school My child has been thrown to the side there and let to fail because of his disease that he has no control over yet they tell me will give him tutors extra time to make up work we will get him in a 504 plan but not one person there step to the plate then didn't even get a phone call to tell me they were not allowing my child to come back (due to his excused absences ) they sent me and email message to tell me this. When I called to speak with super attendant they had every excuse to why he could speak or meet with me. School has a horrible heroin problem as well but you would never know that because they want you to thank its a great school so they cover it up when they catch kids doing it. Well I could go on forever BUT, Please don't take my word for it ask around and I mean ask lots of different people . I am not the only parent dealing with this problem I have found out. Also they say the ratio is 19:1 Lie there are 30 + kids in most all of the classes. Like I said I have a child in the elementary and one in the high school would totally recommend the elementary schools but would pass on the High School.
