Westview High School is a beautiful school with roughly 2,000 students. It is easier to adequately describe Westview's image as a whole by breaking it down into different sections. To begin, the academics I believe are what truly make Westview stand out against other schools not only in Oregon but all across the country. The school offers over 100 courses and a variety of electives that serve the diverse community of students that attend Westview High School. Some electives that particularly stand out are ones such as Culinary Arts, Health Careers, and Digital Art; all of which are taught by brilliant teachers that help their students determine future career choices in their classes. Westview also offers several AP and Dual Credit (college level) courses for students wishing to challenge themselves and receive college credits that transfer to 92% of universities. Westview also has a phenomenal staff. Each teacher genuinely cares about their students and wants them to do well which is incredible to have throughout the ups and downs that being a high school student has. The administration as a whole I would say is adequate, but the counseling department could use some work. In forecasting for classes last year,y my counselor forgot to approve some of my classes until it was too late and i had to re-apply for several classes which was extremely stressful and 100% her fault. Other than the counseling department, the rest of the administration works very hard to spread Westview's message of accepting diversity which is very important. Overall, Westview is an exceptional school that brings pride to Oregon.
