Bought in Poquoson because we could afford more house and property here than we could in Yorktown. People have been very welcoming and the teachers and administrators in the schools have shown a positive interest in my children adapting. We have not had the negative experiences I ...Read More
’ve read about at all. I wish there were more sidewalks. Sidewalks would legitimately make our lives better here. The commute to Langley and NASA is less than 15 minutes and the commute to Fort Eustis is less than a half hour.

This town is a total nightmare. As a working professional, commuting is terrible. I have never met anyone nice in this town and I wish that we had not bought property here. Buyer beware! ...Read More

Poquoson is the ideal place to raise kids. I plan to move back home when I am starting a family and know many children currently growing up in Poquoson. You have an amazing sense of community you would be hard pressed to find somewhere else. Poquoson schools are great, the other ...Read More
review on here is incorrect in the “illiterate” comment. And quite offensive to be honest. None of my classmates nor any PHS graduate are illiterate. Poquoson can be a great loving giving community if you let it. But it can also be your worst nightmare if you’re a miserable person.

This is the worst place on earth the live. My family and I stayed way to long. Here is why. Poquoson is broke. The teachers have not had raises in years so they churn though them. The high school graduation rate is high because They turn a blind eye to so many things. I p ...Read More
ersonally know half a dozen children have graduated illiterate. There is absolutely nothing to do So drugs what kids turn to. They just put in a local smoke shop and now young children are finding ways to take up smoking. The crime rate at this time is low but as they try and bring people in and they are attracting the wrong crowd ! The low income apartments and trailer park is what's bringing in new people. If your single hey yah it's at this time a quiet place. Don't come here to raise your family and if you do keep tabs on your kids and send them to private school.
