My wife and I moved here about 18 months ago and we are absolutely thrilled with Plainfield, especially the Wallin Woods neighborhood. We are walking distance to a great gym (Avery YMCA), and we are also walking distance to Settlers Park and downtown Plainfield which is AWESOME. ...Read More
We feel extremely safe, everyone is very friendly, and there is very little traffic. We are able to access I-55 very quickly and can get anywhere we need to go. There are also many different stores and restaurants along Route 59. The school systems here are very strong (the Wallin Woods Neighborhood is zoned for Plainfield North High School) and our kids will be walking distance to their middle school. Overall, we are extremely happy we moved to Plainfield and chose this neighborhood.

Situated around forty-five minutes South-West of Chicago, Plainfield, IL is a pretty darn nice place to call home. Having lived here for about five years now, I have found that although the cost of living in Plainfield is quite low, the quality of life is well above average.

infield combines some of the best aspects of both rural and urban life. For those that love the outdoors, Mistwood Golf Club and Lake Renwick Reserve are always popular attractions. For the urbanites, a short ride up I-55 will have them immersed in all of the best museums and theaters that Chicago has to offer. No matter what your tastes or preferences may be, you are sure to find something fun to do in the Plainfield area.
The main drawback to living in Plainfield has got to be the weather. When the sun is shining this city shines with it, but those long winters with snow and ice blowing in from Lake Michigan can be tough to endure.
