Payson, UT: Decent, But Not Spectacular Living 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) I have been living in Payson, Utah for most of my 30 years and with the exception of some new businesses, nothing has really changed very much. You see a few new families every now and then but they never stay long before moving on. The schools are mediocre. It seems like student ...Read More s can't wait to get old enough to drop out. Housing is ok, mostly older homes but in decent shape for the most part. There are enough jobs to go around, but maionly because Provo is so close by. The crime rate isn't bad at all, which is a good point. It has remained pretty low for as long as I can remember.

There isn't a lot to do around these parts. One of the best areas in the Payson-Provo area to visit is Ice Castles Utah. Bundle up if you go there! The Virtual Experience center is pretty fun too. We have the annual Scottish Heritage Festival every July, and Onion Days on Labor Day Weekend. Most of the movie Footloose was filmed in Payson. That should sum it up for you right there. Read Less
