. Despite the low paying jobs, the love unemployment rate and a few drug crimes, the local government is trying to make drastic improvements. It’s better to have family around if planning to move to Okmulgee instead of starting in this town by yourself or with a family to support.
The best areas in Okmulgee are around S Wood Drive and E 6th street for shopping and grocery marts. There is not a nightlife in Okmulgee. There is really one bar and one club close by, so there is not a lot to do when it comes to entertainment. Children have the parks, but teens and adults don’t have a place to hang out or enjoy adult conversations besides a backyard. Beyond that, the school systems are great.
