I have lived in Moore, Oklahoma for the past nine years. During that time, I've come to truly love this small suburb that is just outside of Oklahoma City. It is definitely close enough to the city that I can travel there any time I want, but I really do not have a need to travel ...Read More
there on a regular basis because there is plenty to keep me busy right here in Moore. When I first moved here, all I ever heard was about the tornados that struck the town in years past and how so much of it was devastated. The truth is, those were tough times for the town but the rebuilding process was so complete and so impressive that for anyone who did not live in the area at the time, it was virtually impossible to tell that it had ever happened in the first place. This is a testament to the heart and determination the makes Moore so important to me.
As far as the way the town is today, there is a lot to do for a small town. I really enjoy the shopping centers that are open in the area, with places like Kohls and Gordmans. In addition, there is virtually every type of restaurant that you could possibly imagine in the area, ranging from Mexican to Italian and everything in between. I can't say that I have a favorite because there are so many of them on the list it would take too long to mention. However I really do like Q'doba and Caine's Chicken is something that is hard to beat on virtually any day.
I also enjoy having the opportunity to simply walk along the river. There is a major shopping district in the area but somehow they've managed to intertwine the two together so that they work well in concert with each other as opposed to competing for attention. The town is beautiful to look at and has plenty of amenities. Personally, I like movies and there is a state of the art theater that is located right here in Moore called the Warren. It is something that pays homage to the classic movie theaters of years past with its explicit artwork and unique design, yet it is completely modern and features every amenity that you could possibly imagine.
If I have to give Moore an overall rating, it would definitely be a nine out of 10. When it comes to attractions, community involvement, restaurants and shopping, it is hard to beat this small town with a big heart. There may not be a lot of nightlife in the area, but it is within easy driving distance. Check out the ratings below in order to get a quick impression of what it is like to live in this great town.
