Growing up near Miramar I have watched this city grow from a small residential city with few businesses to a large area that is filled with homes, apartments, shops and parks. Although back in the 60's and 70's this area was mostly known for it's larger homes and yards tucked within beautiful old trees, today with the sudden growth spurt of Miramar in the past several years, it extends much farther west, with its city limits ending near the Everglades.
The beauty of Miramar is its location. Situated next to Miami and very close to Ft. Lauderdale, its convenient location makes getting to all the hot spots quite easy. Beaches are also just a short distance from Miramar for fun in the sun. Miramar offers many stores for shopping and is very close to the Pembroke Pines Mall as well as not far from Sawgrass Mills Mall where people flock to find great deals on just about anything. Miramar is also filled with many professional office buildings and is in close proximity to a great variety of restaurants.
The population of Miramar is very mixed with young couples to seniors who have lived here many years. There are also many different ethic groups that live in this vicinity of Broward County, making it an interesting place to live.
