The architecture is mostly a Greek and Mediterranean style found throughout South Beach. Lincoln Road used to be called "Fifth Avenue of the South" back in the 1920's. After the events of World War II Lincoln Road apparently fell into a state of economic decline, Lincoln Road was then revamped to attract more tourists. Over the span of several decades Lincoln Road has become a major tourist attraction. It is a fantastic place to eat, drink, shop, and people watch. In 2010 two buildings were built parallel to Lincoln Road, one building was a Symphony campus the other was a park. The Lincoln Road is also installing parking garage so tourists can park their vehicles the designers are from Switzerland.

The Art Deco District is the first 20th century historical district to be recognized by the National Register of Historical Places. The district has a very oceanic feel.
