There's a lot of job and education opportunities in Inver Grove Heights since it's pretty close to a couple bigger cities. There's also the Inver Hills Community College if you want to pick up a course or two at night.
On average, the job market pays a little bit better than the state average. The real estate is priced reasonably too. You can pick up a nice looking ranch for just a couple hundred thousand dollars. There are public buses that cover most of the downtown area but having your own car to get around with will make it a lot easier for you.
