If you are thinking about moving here for work, DON'T DO IT! Moved here 4 years ago for a job that lied to me to get me here, I have been lied to by every job since (4 in total). $10-$12 is the starting wage for the few factory and industrial jobs here, if they pay more than that ...Read More
expect a miserable work life. A 1(one) bedroom apartment is right around $900 and to rent a home is anywhere from $1200-$1800 unless you live in the Dixie Downs area which is crime ridden. Drug deals and prostitution on Sunset Blvd. and watching the local residents do the crack head shuffle every evening. The soccer moms and retirees all turn a blind eye and pretend like there isn't an issue here.
In 2016 this area was ranked #2 in the nation for worst pay to cost of living costs. This hasn't changed. I literally can't put enough money away to get out of this area unless I live in my car for a few months. Don't let the soccer mom and retiree reviews fool you. This area has a higher rape count than the national average and most of it by pedophiles. NO NIGHT LIFE, a couple movie theaters and no activities other than hiking and camping which isn't so great when it's 110 degrees after working all day in the heat. Meth and heroin is everywhere and because of that I don't interact with many people here anymore.
Unless you are retiring with an income or you have the right last name or connections don't plan on getting ahead. Companies here will tell you that they give regular raises but it's a lie, so don't plan on getting ahead unless you go to the same church as your manager or boss. Lots of Mormon people here and they only look after thier own.

The city allows vehicles to have no exhaust emission safety regulations and the trucks carry rocks and dirt that fall off the trucks onto cars damaging them because apparently no covers are required either as they are in more intelligent local governments of other states. Also th ...Read More

As someone who has been living in Hurricane, UT for the past 23 years, let me share with you that it is one of the best areas in the USA to call home! I will say that our schools here could use some improvement to get their grad rates up and dropout rates down, but other than tha ...Read More
t, things are great here. We don't have very much of a crime problem at all, and I think that's due in large part to the great people who live here. The weather is decent pretty much all the time. We have some beautiful scenery here, and that is one of the best parts of living here.
For fun, we like to head out to Toquerville Falls for some hiking, camping, or just enjoying nature. There's also The House of Jump indoor trampoline park, Sand Hollow State Park for some boating fun on the water, Zion Helicopter Tours, and the Hurricane Valley Pioneer Heritage Park.
